Australia has entered the final of the Under-19 World Cup. They have done it for the sixth time. Australia achieved a one-wicket victory over Pakistan in a thrilling semi-final. The Australian team will face India in the final match on 11 February. Australian team needed 17 runs with only 1 wicket at hand, but Raf McMillan and Callum Vidler made an important unbeaten partnership of 17 runs and won by fours in 49.1 overs.
Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pak batter Awais scored 52 runs on 91 balls. Minhas played an innings of 52 runs on 61 balls. Shamil Hussain scored 17 runs. No other Pakistani player could cross double figures, and Australian bowlers performed brilliantly.
Pakistan was all out for 179 runs in 48.5 overs. Harry Dixon (50 runs) scored a half-century. Tom Straker bowled brilliantly and took 6 wickets. The Australian team made a cautious start, losing the wicket of opener Sam Fornus for 33 runs. Arafat Minhas took wickets at crucial junctures. Oliver PK played an important innings of 49 runs to put Australia ahead in the run chase.

India has won the U19 World Cup the most number of times(5). Australia is in second place with three Under-19 World Cup titles. Australia last won this title in 2010 by defeating Pakistan. India is the defending champion, having defeated England in the final in 2022. India has already reached this edition’s finals by defeating South Africa in the semi-final.
India has not lost against Australia in the Under-19 World Cup for a record 34 years. Their last win was in 1990 at Centurion ground. Since then, the Indian team has been continuously defeating Australia in this tournament. The Indian team also defeated Australia by 96 runs in the last World Cup.
