Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the Champions of South African League SA20 for the second consecutive time. Sunrisers defeated Durban Super Giants by 89 runs in the final match.
The Final match was played on Saturday night at the Newlands ground in Cape Town. The ground was full of young passionate fans. Sunrisers had won the toss and batted first. The team scored 204 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs. Keshav Maharaj dismissed Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell in four deliveries in the 11th over to reduce Sunrisers to 106/3. Tristan Stubbs and Aiden Markram made a partnership of unbroken 98 runs off 55 balls.
Durban Super Giants had a target of 205 runs But they were all out for 115 runs in 17 overs. Tom Abel (55 runs) was the player of the match. Heinrich Klaasen was named Player of the Series.
The Durban Super Giants faced a challenging start. Captain Quinton De Kock was dismissed after scoring 3 runs. Wayne Mulder scored 38 runs. Dwayne Pretorius contributed 28 runs, and Junior Dala contributed 15 runs. Marco Yansen picked up 5 wickets in bowling. Daniel Worrall and Autumn Barthman got 2 wickets each.
The proceedings ended with beautiful fireworks, screaming and soaring into the night sky.
