KL Rahul ruled out of 3rd Test, Padikkal called up

According to some reports, India batter KL Rahul is ruled out of the 3rd Test match between India and England. This news comes as another setback for the Indian cricket team. Former captain Virat Kohli is not available for the rest of the series. He has opted out of the series due to personal reasons. Shreyas Iyer, who is currently out of form, was dropped from the squad.

BCCI (Board Of Control for Cricket in India) was announcing the squad for the next 3 Test matches. They clarified that the fitness clearance from the medical team will decide the participation of KL Rahul & Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul & Jadeja had missed the previous Test due to their injuries.

KL Rahul had pain in his right quadriceps in the 1st Test match, due to which he was sidelined. As per the latest reports, Rahul is working towards his fitness. His fitness will be observed by the medical team one week before that match. After the medical observation, his availability will be announced before the 3rd match in Rajkot on Thursday.

India have picked Devdutt Padikkal in the Test squad for the 3rd match against England. Padikkal’s current form in first-class cricket got him this opportunity. He recently scored 193 runs in a Ranji match.
