India thrashed England by 4-1 in the Test Series

India beat England by an innings and 64 runs in the Dharamsala Test. After this victory, India thrashed England in the 5-match Test series by 4-1. This win is the 17th consecutive series win of India at home in the last 12 years. Yashasvi Jaiswal became the Player of the series.

England opted to bat first after winning the toss in Dharamsala at HPCA stadium. England’s batting collapsed against Indian spin attack and they were all out on 218 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and R Ashwin got 5 and 4 wickets respectively. India was leading with 229 runs at the end of second day. India scored a big total of 477 runs in their first innings. Team India got a lead of 259 runs in the second innings. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored centuries.

England started their second innings batting but they could not cross India’s lead. England were all out on 195 runs in the second innings and India won this match by an innings and 64 runs. Joe Root scored 84 runs and was the highest scorer for England in the 2nd innings. Ravichandran picked up 5 wickets for India. Ashwin was playing his 100th Test and got 9 wickets in the match. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah got 2 wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav became the Player of the match. Rohit Sharma became the first captain to win a series by 4-1 after losing the first match.
