Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 98 runs in the IPL 2024 at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. KKR dominated the match and clinched victory by a huge margin of 98 runs. This victory has pushed KKR to the top of the points table in IPL 2024. LSG has slipped to 5th place in the points table, but they are still in the fight for the playoffs.
LSG won the toss and opted to bowl. KKR, batting first had a great start. Openers Phill Salt and Sunil Narine came out smashing the ball. They scored 61 runs off just 26 balls. Sunil Narine once played an explosive innings. He smashed 81 runs off just 39 balls. He hit 6 fours and 7 sixes. Ramandeep Singh played an explosive cameo at the end and scored 25 runs in just 6 balls. This crazy hitting pushed KKR to a huge score of 235 runs. It was the highest total made in T20’s at Ekana Stadium Lucknow. Naveen-ul-Haq picked up 3 wickets for LSG.
In response, LSG’s batting order failed under the pressure of the huge target. They managed to score 137 runs only and were bowled out in the 17th over. Marcus Stoinis was the only batter to score above 30 runs. Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana picked up 3 wickets each.
