This huge victory not only gave 2 points for SRH but also improved their net run rate by a big margin. They are now in the 3rd place of the IPL 2024 points table with 14 points. Lucknow Super Giants are in 6th place with 12 points in the points table.
Lucknow Super Giants batted first after winning the toss. They lost 2 wickets early in their innings. This put the LSG batters under pressure and they could score only 165 runs in 20 overs. Ayush Badoni scored 55 runs in 30 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 crucial wickets for SRH.
Sunrisers started their chase with a bang. Both openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma decimated the LSG bowling. They scored 100 runs within the powerplay and chased down the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs. Fours and sixes were raining in the stadium. LSG bowlers were mere spectators and could not do anything to escape the carnage. Travis Head smashed 89* runs in just 30 balls. Young Abhishek Sharma made 75 runs in just 28 balls. Travis Head got the Player of the Match award.
