Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 4 wickets in the IPL 2024 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. This victory helped RCB to move to 7th place on the IPL 2024 points table. While GT has slipped to the second-last place. This has made the quest for playoffs more interesting for the viewers.
Gujarat Titans batted first but lost their openers very early. They lost 3 wickets in the powerplay. Shahrukh Khan and David Miller made a partnership of 50 runs and stabilized the innings. Shahrukh was runout on 37 by Virat Kohli. Rahul Tewatia added 35 more runs. Gujarat Titans lost 3 wickets in 3 balls in the last over and were all out for 147 runs only. Siraj, Yash Dayal, and Vijay Vyshak picked up 2 wickets each for RCB.
RCB started their chase strongly. Openers Virat Kohli scored 42 runs and Faf du Plessis scored 64 runs off just 23 balls. Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh added 21 and 15 runs at the end respectively and got RCB their crucial victory. Mohammad Siraj got the Player of the Match award. Virat Kohli donned the Orange Cup again having scored the most runs in the season till now.
